What’s
Going On:
1) This is a shortened version of the usual newsletter since we needed to go ahead and get some critical information out to everyone regarding the calendar of events, annual dues, etc. Please see Don Wrenn’s update below.
2) In case you
missed it, our very own Keny Kirschstein was featured on page 44 of the April
2003 issue of WINDSURFING Magazine in
a story about windsurfing in
3) As Don says below, please send your 2003 club dues to Keny Kirschstein, our club Treasurer. Keny’s contact info is 854-9057 keny@elsouth.com . You can mail your check to Keny, made out to Triad Windsurfing, at 3102 Ardoch Court, Greensboro, NC 27410. Or, you can also send your dues to any of the other club officers as well. Please don’t delay.
March Officers Meeting by Don Wrenn – Club President
It seems to have been a
long winter and with the ice storms that we have had there has not been much
sailing being done. With spring approaching the sailing should quickly get
better so its time for the officers to plan the year. Monday March 10 we had
our first Officers meeting of the year. Jason , Karol, Debbie, and myself met at the Sagebrush in
Kernersville.
Our first order of business was the Dues. Yes, it is that
time again. Our membership is down slightly but the dues will remain at $80
again this year. Please send a check to Keny by April 1. It seems that some of
you forget to send the check until that really windy and warm day reminds you.
We are going to make it a little easier if that happens. Any of the current
officers will be able to accept your dues and give you the combination to the
gate. This way if Keny is in
And speaking of officers we need to elect new ones. Last
year we did it at the Christmas party so we are behind this year. If you would
like to nominate someone let me know. Or if you are interested in an office let
me know. We have set April 5 as date for our next club meeting. It will be at
the
We have had some problems with the club website but are
getting things back online. Jason has done a great job with this so thank him
by visiting the website often. I’d like to see the website used more to
organize day trips to the coast or a trip to the site. If you plan to go sail post it in the Forum
Section. Some people are intimidated to go sail alone and would like to know if
others will be there. And Jason has the current conditions for Belew’s Creek on
the homepage.
We are interested in a new logo for the club. It has been a
while since we have had club t-shirts made and our old ones are fast becoming
rags. Those of you who are gifted in this get busy. Send us some designs. We
would like to move on this as soon as possible. It would be great to have them
before the Learn to Windsurf Day.
We have selected dates for the clubs activities for the
first part of the year. If you have things in mind you would like to see the
club do let us know. We are open to suggestions. We have two dates again this
year for the Learn to Windsurf Days. This seems to be one of our main ways to
reach potential new club members. However they demand a lot of work from our
members to successfully host them. Please plan to help with them.
